The Central YMCA's annual adult and youth triathlon, with age divisions ranging from as young as 3 to 5 years to 70 years and up, is planned for Sunday, July 21.
The first heat of the adult triathlon starts at 7 a.m. and consists of a 500-yard swim, 12-mile bike and 3-mile run. Youth races start at 10:30 a.m. with different swim, bike and run distances according to age groups.
"The adult and youth triathlon is a great Y event for the whole family," said Maureen Horvath, event coordinator. "It gives kids a chance to get more involved, promotes healthy living and supports the Strong Kids Campaign."
Athletes must be registered by noon on Friday, July 19. There will be no race-day registration.
Registration forms are available online at www.youngstownymca.org or at the Central YMCA in downtown Youngstown. For more information, contact Horvath at 330-744-8411.
