Swimming fun for everyone

Five-year-old Michael Lattanzio of Poland, sets his pace as he competes in the first swim meet of the season at the Poland Swim Club on Wednesday, June 19.

Ellie Blasko, now in her sixth year of swimming, takes second place in the freestyle with a time 16.02 in the Poland Swim Club opener. The members just competed against teammates as they prepare for the upcoming swim season.

Poland’s Kaley Johnson competes in the backstroke at the first Poland swim meet of the season on Wednesday, June 19. The younger kids like Johnson swim 25 feet to one end of the pool. The swim team opener is always a crowded event as kids are excited to compete against friends. The opener prepares the younger kids who have not competed get acclimated as they learn the rules of swimming.

Three-year-old Joey Loree of Poland, son of Patrice and Joe Loree, is hardly concerned about the Poland swim meet as he enjoys his snow cone.
