Austintown Relays for a cure

Austintown Relay for Life, held Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8 at the Austintown Fitch High School track, brought together community members united for the cause.

In a heart-warming show of support for retired Canfield Village Middle School History teacher Ken Reel, who lost his battle with T-cell lymphoma on Wednesday, June 12, not only was Team Reel comprised of numerous friends, family members, staff and students of Canfield Local Schools, but 24 students managed to complete the event Saturday as 24-hour walkers. Pictured with team organizer and CVMS teacher Sabrina Eaton are the two dozen 24-hour student walkers: Maddy Urig, Francine Hazy, Madie Keyse, Della Colley, Stephanie Franco, Carlie Oddo, Elena Merhaut, Gillian Jennings, Nicole Schmidt, Ashlyn Merrell, Marrissa Fairchild, Isabella Moyer, Megan Gosala, Theresa Mikolay, Haylee Klacik, Emma Hartshorn, Megan Heagerty, David Hofsess, Lauren Hull, Maggie Brucoli, Sidney Lambert, Alexis Vincent, Lauren Parisi, and Hannah Mattik.
