Ursuline Preschool in Canfield saw the return of Fun Day on May 30 after parents pulled together at the last minute to make it happen. It had been a few years since the once-popular event had been held at the school, according Sister Charlotte Italiano, the school's principal.
"It is a time of year for kids and parents to enjoy themselves," Italiano said. "Thanks to our moms who organized this fun day and took full charge."
The moms got together and brought in bounces, pizza and pop for the day. They also had some help from a Youngstown State University organization.

Enjoying a cooling romp on the swing is three-year-old Eva Camuso and her mom and main source of swing power, Rachel. The mom-daughter duo enjoyed a day in the sun during the Ursuline Preschool Fun Day on May 30.
Nancy Wolfgang has a son, Daniel, attending the school. She serves as advisor for the Alpha Psi Omega fraternity at YSU, which is a theater honor fraternity. Members, who were used to doing theater makeup, were brought in to do face painting.
One of the mothers who was behind setting up the day's events was Nicole Billak. She said it used to be an annual event that had fallen by the wayside.
"We used to do it every year, then it stopped," Billak said. "This year we decided to bring it back so the parents pulled together at the last minute. We just wanted Ursuline Preschool to be a special place with special memories."
"The moms said let's do something, and I said, go for it," Italiano said.
