The Canfield Community Concert Band, under the direction of Brian Harris, will be presenting a series of free outdoor summer concerts in June throughout the area.
Upcoming concerts will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 11 at Shepherd of the Valley on Western Reserve Road in Poland; at 7 p.m. Monday June 17 at the Canfield Village Green; at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 28 at the Poland Village Hall Park; and at 6 p.m. Sunday June 30 at Buhl Park in Sharon, Pa.
The band will entertain audiences with a variety of popular songs and marches presenting contemporary American styles and celebrating American composers and patriotic themes. The program will include "John Williams in Concert," a medley of movie themes by John Williams, the beloved hymn "Amazing Grace," arranged by Frank Ticheli, and Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the U.S.A." Fillmore's "Americans We" and Sousa's "Semper Fidelis" and "Sabre and Spurs" will also be performed. The "Armed Forces Salute" will round out the program as the band pays tribute to veterans as well as current members of the Armed Forces. America's march, "The Stars and Stripes Forever" will conclude the program.
