Fitch girls basketball team captain, Briana Edwards signed her letter of intent on Wednesday, April 24 to play basketball for West Virginia State University this fall. Briana has shown her leadership skills both on and off the court.
"Bri is one of those players who worked so hard from the day I met her, " said Fitch girls basketball coach Stacie Cepin. "She is a great leader and it has all come together for her to have a great education and play basketball at the next level."
Briana has lettered three years for the Lady Falcons and earned the Team Captain Award twice. She said basketball has been a part of her life ever since she could remember.

Proud parents Donovan and Nicole Edwards joined their daughter, Fitch senior Briana Edwards, on Wednesday, April 24 as she signed her letter of intent to play basketball for West Virginia State this fall.
"I started playing basketball at age four or five," she said. "I just stayed with it."
She will be attending West Virginia State on a partial athletic as well as a partial academic scholarship. She carries a 4.0 GPA at Fitch and has also been involved in Key Club, Spirit Club, National Honor Society and the German Club.
Briana said she chose West Virginia State because she liked the atmosphere and she has relatives living nearby. She plans to major in psychology.
