Pentathlon team earns back-to-back state titles

For the second year in a row, Youngstown Christian School’s Academic Pentathlon team holds the title as state champions. The team then went on to compete against teams in Pennsylvania and placed second in their state competition. With the guidance of coaches Kara Pecchia and Kate Lilley, the team of nine students earned a total of 17 individual medals. Students have studied all year in the areas of art, science, social science, math, and essay. Students will now go on to compete in the online national championship next month. The team includes, in the top row: Kate Lilley, Taisha Williams, Aniah Harris, Marissa Davis, Nicholas Cornell, Shawn Murray, Kara Pecchia; and in the bottom row: Logan Schnabl, Chloe Cruz, Josh Suszczynski, and Antonio Hernandez-Cruz.
