Local kicker heads to NFL combine

Patrick Sankovic, a 2008 Canfield High School graduate, and a 2012 grad of the University of Dayton will be attending the NFL combine in Seattle, on March 24. Sankovic played football for UD, a division 1-AA team and was the starting kicker the last two seasons. During this past season, he was leading scorer for the team and was also Special Teams Player of the Week against Butler on Sept. 29, 2012. While he was on the team, the Dayton Flyers won two division championships in the Pioneer League. Sankovic graduated with a B.A. in communications and sports management.

Sankovic kicked a school-record 45 PATs during Canfield's 2007 season, helping to lead the Cards to the regional semifinals. In addition to football, he also lettered two seasons in tennis at Canfield.

He is the son of Carol and Denny Sankovic.
