The Boardman High School football team and cheerleaders will be spending the day with crafters and patrons at the second annual Boardman Gridiron Arts & Crafts Show, starting at 10 a.m. Saturday March 23 at Boardman High School. The team asked to volunteer their time as a way of thanking the Gridiron Club for supporting the football and cheerleading programs.
With the assistance of new head coach Joe Ignazio, players will be on hand to help vendors set up their booths, as well as throughout the day to help patrons with parking and carrying goods to their vehicles. The team assisted in a similar way at last year's event, and several vendors commented that it was one of the reasons they wanted to return to this year's show.
This year's event will feature crafters and artisans from as far away as Cleveland and Akron. Close to100 vendors plan to participate, with products ranging from handcrafted jewelry, fabric purses and hats, indoor and outdoor decorative items, as well as seasonal treats and baked goods.
The event will also feature a basket taffle, 50/50 drawings and concessions. Admission is free.
