Poland’s Carli Sebest prepares for the upcoming track season with optimism. Sebest discovered last year that she suffered from celiac disease, an autoimmune digestive disease that damages the villi of the small intestine and interferes with absorption of nutrients from food. Ultimately, Sebest had to alter her diet in order to make a full recovery. Traveling back and forth from Cleveland for treatment, Sebest said she is not yet a 100 percent but looks forward to the first track meet in April to see where she is in her recovery.
McKinzie Klim and Libby Rogenski are two of the top runners in the area and have conditioned throughout the winter months.
Poland’s Patrick Hiznay looks to repeat for state finals in 4x4 relay this year. Hiznay concentrates on form running as his teammate, Conner McFadden, who also was on the state team, prepares for the upcoming challenge.
Youngstown State-bound Connor McFadden will compete in the 110 high huddles this year. McFadden was apart of the 4x4 relay that made it to the state finals last year.
Poland speedster Anthony Marchionda will compete in the 4x1, 4x2, and 4x4 relays and the 200 meter dash this year. Marchionda looks to make it pass the regional this year.
