Poland’s Carli Sebest prepares for the upcoming track season with optimism. Sebest discovered last year that she suffered from celiac disease, an autoimmune digestive disease that damages the villi of the small intestine and interferes with absorption of nutrients from food. Ultimately, Sebest had to alter her diet in order to make a full recovery. Traveling back and forth from Cleveland for treatment, Sebest said she is not yet a 100 percent but looks forward to the first track meet in April to see where she is in her recovery.
