Sixth-grade Cards win second tournament

This sixth-grade Canfield boys basketball team won their second tournament in a row recently. With a combined record of 26-1 so far this season after playing in Catholic League and winning tournament at South Range and Austintown. The boys won the Austintown Basketball tournament sixth grade division on Feb. 16 out of a total of 12 teams competing. The boys were undefeated throughout the tournament and during bracket play they went on to defeat Youngstown Pride in the semifinals and then Austintown for the championship. Team members include, in front row: Ricky Havrilla, Brayden Beck, Conor Crogan, and Andre Crump, and in the back row: coach Steve Hanousek, Aydin Hanousek, Glenn Griswold, PJ Hallof, Vince Giordano, Max Dawson, and coach Rick Havrilla Missing is Kyle Gamble. The team is currently playing in their last tournament as a team in Girard, which runs through March 17.
