At the end of January, St. Joseph Immaculate Heart of Mary School held the first of four Kindergarten Round-Up Days. Kindergarten teacher Erin Glaab set up centers with a country western theme for her Kkindergarten class and prospective students. All had fun as there was horse lassoing, cattle number round-up, making and drinking fresh squeezed orange juice, and cowboy boot design. Students also had an opportunity to use laptop computers and visit the art room where they created their own abstract masterpieces using exploratory art technique.
"It was exciting to show potential students and parents what my classroom has to offer a caring, interactive, and engaging learning environment where students' needs are first," Glaab said.
SJIHM's Round-Up days give prospective students a chance to experience a morning in a kindergarten classroom.
