Youngstown Christian School hosted the Academic Decathlon Regional Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 2. Of the 126 students from Ohio who competed on 21 teams for individual medals as well as team trophies, YCS placed third overall in the completion and third in the Super Quiz Relay. The decathlon is comprised of 10 academic events including math, science, essay, social studies, music, art, speech, interview, economics and language/literature. All categories are centered around a theme that is selected for the year, with this year's being "Russia."
Individual students receiving awards include:
Chase Miles, who won Economics bronze, Art bronze, Music silver, Speech gold, Language and Literature bronze, Essay bronze, and Individual bronze

Students will compete in the state championship meet on March 16 at Lake Erie College in Painesville. Youngstown Christian School placed first in the small schools division last year.
