The Friends of Poland Library will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 5, in the library's meeting room and install a new slate of officers: Kitty Heineman, president; Lee Wright, vice president; Bertha Eszenyi, secretary; and Glenda Hoagland, treasurer. The meeting begins with refreshments at 9:30 a.m. and is open to the public.
Dave and Glenda Hoagland will present a program on their summer trip to Cuba. The Hoaglands were among a select group of Americans permitted to tour the country last year and will share stories and photographs.
During the business portion of the meeting the hospitality committee will provide information on the upcoming April Spring Luncheon, which will be catered by Kravitz Delicatessen. Additionally, members will be asked to vote on a proposed amendment to the constitution that was presented in November.
The Friends have been serving as a support group for Poland Library for more than four decades. Their primary source of income is the book cart located near the circulation desk. Donations of books for the book cart are accepted at every meeting.
In the event of inclement weather, the Friends follow the schedule of Poland Schools. When Poland Schools are closed, the meeting is cancelled.
Hostesses for the meeting are Emma Eggleston, Rekha Desai, Carol McCoy and Sue Perry.
