The Spartans fifth-grade basketball team started their winter schedule by capturing the championship of the Lordstown Classic Tournament on Dec. 16. Their record in the event was 5-0, outscoring opponents 155-73, and defeating opponents from Southeast, Windham, Boardman, Poland and Crestwood. Team members include, bottow row: Anthony Amendola, Timmy Bowser, Andrew Clark, Tommy Fryda; and top row: Zach Ryan, Justin Marrie, Isaac Land, Josh Sandora and Derrick Anderson. The team is coached by Tony Amendola and John Ryan, and sponsored by Compco Industries.
