AMS Blue Tops BGMS
Boardman Glenwood's seventh-grade girls lost to AMS Blue, 20-10 on Monday, Dec. 10. Leading scorers for Glenwood were Ashley Clark with seven and Cassie Stitt with three.
Glenwood's eighth-grade girls suffered their first defeat of the season, 45-20 against AMS Blue on the same night. Aniyuh Spann and Simone Comer had six each, MaryssaWagner and Taylor Halowell both had 4.
BGMS Boys Falls to AMS Blue
Boardman Glenwood's seventh-grade boys lost to AMS Blue, 38-21. Holden Lipke was the leading scorer with 10 points, Noah Falleti added five points, and Antonio Page, Brian Terlesky, and Jarod Wilson each added two points.
The eighth-grade boys basketball team also fell to AMS Blue 27-21. The team was led in scoring by Bryce Richey with eight points. JR Ryan had six points. The boys played very well defensively and were led in steals by Mark Smaldino and Gaven Strines.
BGMS Girls Top Youngstown Christian
The Boardman Glenwood eighth-grade girls picked up their second win of the season over Youngstown Christian. Simone Comer led the way with 14 points. Lauren Pavlansky, Alexis Stutz, and Taylor Halowell each had four. Aniyuh Spann had three points and crashed the boards with seven rebounds. Charlotte Voytko and Alaina Hufnagel rounded out the scoring with two points each. The Lady Spartans are now 2-1.
BGMS seventh-grade Lady Spartans lost a tough game to Youngstown Christian School, 21-17. Leading scorers were Ashley Clark with 12, Rachel Hritz with three, and Savannah Beule with two. The seventh-grade girls are 0-3.
BGMS Sweeps Youngstown Christian
The seventh-grade boys scored a blowout against Youngstown Christian, 50-16, on Thursday, Dec. 13. Leading the way for the Spartans were Noah Falleti with 15 points and Antonio Page with eight. Also scoring for the Spartans were Jimmy Lagese with six points, and Brad Boerio and Brian Terlesky with five points each. Holden Lipke and Billy Cammack each had four apiece, while Evan Collins had three. BGMS is now 2-1.
The BGMS eighth-grade boys team beat Youngstown Christian, 44-24. The team was led in scoring by JR Ryan with 19 points. Gaven Strines was in double digits as well with 11. Also scoring for the team were Nick Augustine, Dante Colaluca, Sean Birchfield, Travis Koontz, and Mark Smaldino. The Spartans are now 1-2 on the season.
