Boardman senior Lauren Davila signed her National Letter of Intent on Monday, Dec. 17, to play collegiate volleyball for the St. Thomas University Bobcats in Miami Gardens, Fla. Davila will be playing for second-year coach Callaway Mefford who has already improved the Bobcats' record by 13 wins over last seasons record. Mefford played volleyball at Division I Samford University from 2003 to 2006. Davila said she loved the St. Thomas campus and connected with coach Mefford.

Davila is five-feet, nine-inches tall and has a 27-inch vertical leap; her block jump has been measured at nine feet, four inches. She was named to the All District First Team Division I North East Ohio in both 2011 and 2012. During her four-year career as an outside/middle hitter at Boardman, she recorded 49 aces, 192 digs, 293 blocks, and 605 kills.

Davila has been offered a full scholarship and said she would like to major in either holistic medicine or physical therapy with the biology field as the backbone.
