Swimmers succeed at Canton Invitational

Swimming at the Canton Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 15 were Canfield swimmers Mallory Allen, Olivia Williamson, Briana O'Malley, Jamie Wellham, Sarah Heaven, Maggie Beistel, Theresa Mikolay, Mike Dohar, Mike Cardone, Nicky Montatlo, Daniel Bogen, Drew Bennett, Adam Weiss, Mike DiDomenico, Connor Brady, Kyle Anderson and diver Ally Chiu.

Swimmers from 76 schools across Ohio attend this meet and must have qualifying times in order to participate.

Making finals were: Allen in 200 medley and 100 fly; Williamson in 200 medley and 100 breaststroke; Heaven in 200 medley, 200 IM and 100 backstroke; Mikolay in the 200 medley and 100 breaststroke; Montalto in 50 free, 100 free, 200 and 400 free relay; Cardone in 400 free relay; Bogen in 100 free, 200 and 400 free relay; DiDomenico in 200 and 400 free relay; Kyle Anderson in 200 IM; and Brady in 100 backstroke, 100 fly, 200 free relay.

The girls' 200 medley of Heaven, Mikolay, Allen, and Williamson placed eighth in the finals, while Montalto was fifth in the 50 free. Brady took second in 100 fly, and the 200 free relay team of Brady, DiDomenico, Montalto, and Daniel Bogen were fifth.

Heaven placed fifth in 100 backstroke, Brady was third in 100 backstroke, and the 400 free relay team of Cardone, DiDomenico, Montalto, and Bogen captured sixth place.
