Junior forward George Chammas helps the Dogs win 52-46 as he takes on three West Middlesex defensive players for a lay up in the Saturday, Dec. 15 United Way Holiday Basketball Classic, “Battle for the Border.” Ohio and Pennsylvania teams faced off in the tournament. Proceeds go to United Way of Mahoning Valley for people in need. Bob Hannon, president of United Way of the Mahoning Valley, said he was extremely happy with turnout. In fact, Hannon and Brian Banfield, Poland’s athletic director, have already set next year’s Holiday Classic for Dec. 14.
