Prior to Thanksgiving, the students and staff of Poland Union Elementary School expressed their gratitude to Karen Fitzpatrick by presenting her with flowers and a signed banner. Fitzpatrick, whose grandson Michael is in first grade, volunteers her time on the playground every day. She was surprised on the playground with the presentation and received a thunderous round of applause.
