Church leads visitors on journey

December 5, 2012
Special to the Town Crier

Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road, will again lead the community on The Journey To Bethlehem, a walk-through drama that recreates the sights and sounds of the village of Bethlehem at the time of Christ's birth.

The live nativity will be presented from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 inside and outside the church. Visitors will encounter King Herod, angels, wise men with their camels and shepherds during their search for baby Jesus.

The event also includes cookies, cocoa and crafts for each family in the Fellowship Hall.

Admission is free, however this year, visitors are asked to bring nonperishable food items, such as peanut butter, cereal, tuna fish, macaroni and cheese, dry pasta, canned soup and canned vegetables to be donated to Second Harvest Foodbank.

The day following The Journey, the church is hosting a special 10:30 a.m. performance from the Boardman High School Chorale. Food items will also be collected at this event.

For more information on The Journey or donating food, call the church office at 330-758-8189.
