Adding color to Red Ribbon Week

November 14, 2012
Special to the Town Crier

Red Ribbon Week at Poland McKinley and Poland Middle schools last week turned into a plethora of colors as students wore a mix-match of colorful socks. Students picked the colorful socks to show that there are other things to do to have fun rather than using drugs.

McKinley Elementary guidance counselor Wendy Butch also spent time in fifth- and sixth-grade classrooms discussing good choices. They discussed easy choices that they make on a regular basis such as what to wear to school or what they want to eat for breakfast, contrasted with more difficult choices students must make as they get older.

The sixth-grade students did activities in the computer lab where they discussed decision-making and viewed videos on the website
