The Ohio Middle School Cross Country State championships, sponsored by the Middle School Athletic Association, were held on Oct. 21 at the Groveport Madison High School in Columbus. Medals were awarded to the top 15 runners completing the two-mile race. Locally, Raquel Markulin, an eighth-grader at Canfield Village Middle School finished in 10th place individually. Raquel is in her second year of competing in this event and is also involved in track and field at Canfield.
