Canfield's Kayley Keller traveled to Lima Sept. 22 to sign her letter of intent to play softball for the University of Northwestern Ohio for the 2013-14 season. The current CHS senior has lettered three years in softball and was selected to play in the 2012 All-Ohio Underclassmen Tournament for Northeast Ohio. As a junior, she was named Honorable Mention to the All-American Conference red tier and led the team with 27 RBIs while batting .295 with four home runs, 18 runs scored and five stolen bases. As a sophomore she also led the team in RBIs and was named first team All Conference. She will join the Lady Racers under head coach Tracy Coffman, who said, 'Kayley does so many things well. She can hit from the left side for power, slap and bunt. She has solid speed and is a force in the outfield. Kayley is a tremendous leader and has the personality and drive to move our team in the right direction from day one.'
