City hears completion of gazebo and extension of leaf pickup

Canfield City Council heard an update on the work being done to the Village Green gazebo. City Manager Joe Warino reported the work has been completed on the new floor.

The restoration work for the floor came after it was discovered the old flooring was deteriorating. Bernard Daniels donated the hard wood for the flooring and it was installed last week.

While the floor was successfully replaced, council members responded to calls from residents regarding the side railings.

"They asked the administration to investigate prices for the restoration of the side railings," Warino said.

They wanted to see them restored to the original look.

Warino also reported the sidewalks had been completed for The Preserve subdivision phase 8 and 9.

Council set trick or treat hours for Halloween night, Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Leaf pick up was scheduled to commence Oct. 8 and run through Monday, Nov. 26. Warino said this will allow residents to make a final sweep over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Council opted not to read a letter prepared for resident Frank Micchia. Micchia wished it to be read into council's official record.

Steve Easton asked about the status of their drainage complaint and was invited to attend the next staff meeting on Sept. 25.
