Defense paves way for Falcons

In the past two weeks, the Fitch Falcons soccer team has beaten Beaver Local, Niles, Howland and Hubbard to remain undefeated at 8-0.

On the 2-0 win over Beaver Local, goals scored by Ben Gillespie and Nate Bowlen with the Falcons having 51 shots on goal.

Against Niles, the lone goal of the game came from Ben Conley as the team faced 31 shots on goal.

Beating Howland 1-0, Vince Ortenzio nabbed that goal. Hubbard's 3-0 loss to the Falcons came with goals by Bowlen and Terry Worrell along with a penalty kick from Kenneth Kilpatrick.

The defensive unit of Kilpatrick, Corey Spencer, Mike Jadue and Tony Mortaro and goal keeper Nick Sheely have stepped it up this season only giving up two goals and having shutouts six of the season games.
