September 20, 2012
Special to the Town Crier

Access Health Mahoning Valley, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing poor and uninsured adults residing in Trumbull and Mahoning counties with access to free health and dental care, honored and recognized key supporters Sept. 12 at the Youngstown City Health District. Those honored include Janice Strasfeld, executive director of the Youngstown Foundation; Patricia Brozik, president of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley; and attorney Deborah Grinstein, endowment director for the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation.

Access Health connects uninsured adults ages 19 through 64 who are ineligible for public health insurance programs Medicare, Medicaid and Veteran's Administration benefits with primary care physicians, specialists, clinics and dentists who provide care free of charge.

The group also provides participants with access to their prescription medications at little or no cost, and for those who need it, access to transportation and interpreters. Offices are located in Youngstown and Warren.
