Sept. 17 is recognized in the United States as Constitution Day and Citizenship Day. The purpose of Constitution days and Citizenship Day is to commemorate the creation and signing of the supreme law of the land and to honor and celebrate the privileges and responsibilities of U.S. citizenship for both native-born and naturalized citizens. Dobbins Elementary School second-grade students in Karen DiVito and Stephanie Mateja's classes and fourth-grade students in Elaine Morlan and Sharyn DiMuzio's classes performed a Reader's Theater and patriotic songs to celebrate citizenship. The program was attended by all grade levels and staff.
A group of second-graders at Dobbins Elementary School gives a reading in recognition of Constitution Day on Monday, Sept. 17 during a special assembly at the school.
