Aug. 13-Tam O'Shanter GC "Hills" Canton. The Canfield Girls Golf Team placed second with a score of 341 to first place Massillon Jackson's 311. Scorers for the Cards were: Christina Cooper-79, Kerra Loomis-87, Michele Whiteleather-87, and Olivia DeMartino-88. Nine schools participated.

Aug. 15-The Legends of Massillon Golf Course. The Canfield girls golfers ended up fourth out of eight teams with a score of 346. First place went to Massillon Jackson at 304, second to Medina Highland at 307, and third went to North Canton Hoover at 320. Scorers for Canfield included: Christina Cooper-81, Michele Whiteleather-85, Kerra Loomis-87, and Olivia DeMartino-93.


Canfield Lady Cardinals traveled to Niles High School on Aug. 20, beating the home team, 10-0. Paige Bidinotto led scorers with three goals followed by Jen Love and Bailey Fischer with two each. Tallying one goal each were Marissa Severino, Haylee Klacik and Cheyenne Story.

Assists were provided by Bidinotto with three, Nikki Ghossain with two and Fischer, Jen Love, and Klacik with one each. Canfield outshot Niles, 32 to 3. Canfield goalkeepers Olivia Governor and Victoria Villano are credited with the shutout. Villano had two saves. The Canfield JV girls defeated Niles, 7-0.

Canfield defeated Beaver Local girls varsity soccer team 9-0 on Aug. 29. Canfield's goals were scored as follows: three by Jen Love, and two each from Paige Bidinotto, Bryn Taylor, and Haylee Klacik. Assists were credited as follows: Love-three; and Cheyenne Story, Bailey Fischer, and Elena Billy with one each. Canfield outshot Beaver Local, 20-1.

The Canfield High School girls varsity soccer team traveled to River View High School in Warsaw to play in a showcase event against Clear Fork from Mansfield on Sept. 3. Clear Fork was 5-0-0 coming into the event. The Cardinal girls defeated Clear Fork, 5-1 to hand them their first loss of the season. Goals for Canfield were scored by Jen Love with two; Paige Bidinotto, Elena Billy and Sydney Miller each turned in one.

Assists were made by Cheyenne Story, Paige Bidinotto and Jen Love. Canfield outshot Clear Fork, 26-10. Canfield's goalkeeper, Victoria Villano, had five saves. The River View High School showcase game MVP's were Love and Villano.

Seventh state ranked Canfield now 4-1-0, traveled to Poland on Sept. 5 and defeated them 4-2. Canfield's goals were scored by Bailey Fischer, Sophia Mancini, Jen Love and Hannah Day. Paige Bidinotto, Mancini and Love provided assists for Canfield. Canfield outshot Poland, 19-8. Canfield goalkeepers Victoria Villano had three saves and Olivia Governor had one save. Canfield JV's won their match, 2-0.


Canfield had 22 shots on goal in the Aug. 25 game against Boardman. Senior Dylan Seybert had one goal. The Spartans had six shots on goal, with Canfield goalie, Andrik Massaro, having five saves. The JV score was 0-0.

The boys Canfield soccer team visited Salem on Aug. 30 and defeated them 6-1. The shots were even at 16 each. Canfield's Dylan Seybert and Brady Clark each had three goals. Mike Piersante and Jona Ghossain had an assist for Canfield.

Brady Clark played goal for Canfield in the first half and had six saves while Andrik Massaro had four saves. Canfield also won the JV game, 6-1.
