Class of '44 still gathering

September 19, 2012
The Town Crier
Photo special to the Town Crier
The Fitch class of 1944 held a small luncheon for members still living in the area, in observance of their 68th reunion. Marjorie Brown Gessner and Hope Gettman Fairbanks were the co-chairs for the event held at Barry Dyngles Restaurant. Unable to attend this year were Elaine Zedek, Jim Alberter, Chester Clarke, Ray McClain and Jack Siersdorfer. The class has held a luncheon every year since their 50th reunion in 1994. Betty Wehr Nobile was in charge of the prayer, remembering three classmates who passed away since last year's reunion. They were Dr. Walter Holbrook, Eileen Crum Schulz and Letha Baker Brobst. Pictured at the event are, from left, Mary Louise Adams Bickerstaff, Fairbanks, Gessner, John Polish, Doris Fee Bishop, Betty Kravec Petrosky, Nobile, and Bob Bishop (a graduate of 1939 and honorary member of the class of 1944).
