Photo special to the Town Crier
Members of the Youngstown Lions Club, from left, Bill Ruggles, Diane Hardenbrook, George Kolesar, Bryan Hughes, Ed Brant, Roy Reese, Nancy Cuffle, and Don Mathews, are busy collecting eye glasses to send to people in need. The used glasses are given to Uniontown Lion Recycling Center where the glasses are checked to identify the prescription, then the glasses get cleaned, and sorted. The glasses are then sent to underdeveloped countries where the people are given free eye exams. Local people who can’t afford eyeglasses, can either contact the Youngstown Lions Club or Goodwill Industries for assistance.
Donations of used eyeglasses are accepted at: Howard Hanna Real Estate office in Poland and Canfield, the libraries, Youngstown City Hall, Wickliffe Presbyterian Church, Easter Seals, Dr. Ellashek’s office in Canfield, and Park Vista in Youngstown.
