Casey becomes bride of Rohrer

The Church of Christ the Good Shepherd, Holy Name of Jesus, in Youngstown was the setting for the May 26 wedding of Jacob M. Rohrer and his bride, Colleen E. Casey.

The Msgr. Peter Polando officiated the 2 p.m. ceremony which united the daughter of Vincent and Susan Casey of Youngstown, and the son of Larry and Deanna Rohrer of Fort Dodge, Iowa.

A reception was held in their honor at Mr. Anthony's at the Maronite Center in Youngstown later in the evening before the couple's morning departure for their honeymoon in Thailand. Upon their return, a post-nuptial reception was held in Fort Dodge in early July.

The bride wore a one-piece, white satin A-line gown with a strapless neckline, radial pleating on the bodice and waist, and modern beadwork that richly adorned the top and side of the dress. The lace-up back featured asymmetrical pleating on the waist with a custom made bow design and large decorative pattern of crystals, rhinestones, sequins and other metallic accents accentuating the pleated chapel train. Her fingertip-length veil featured a satin trim and was set in place with modern rhinestone comb. She carried a cascading bouquet that featured an array of richly colored wildflowers.

Sarah Cornman of Cleveland served as the bride's maid of honor and her bridesmaids were Laura Sefcik of Howland and Kimberly Sefcik of Howland, the bride's cousins; Jessica Koncsol of Austintown; Karla Kovalchik of Austintown; Lia Kovalchik of Austintown; Megan Goodoien of Arlington, Va.; Megan Mead of Atlanta; all friends of the bride. Gabriella Koncsol, the bride's goddaughter, served as the flower girl. They wore short, strapless A-line dresses featuring a sweetheart neckline and radial pleating on the waist; Ms. Cornman in teal and the bridesmaids in aqua.

Serving as best man for the groom was his friend, Joey Williams of Kansas City. His groomsmen included his brother, Nathan Rohrer of Fort Dodge; the bride's brother, Vincent Casey, Jr. of Youngstown; Mark Kozitka of Detroit Lakes, Minn.; Dan Taylor of Marshalltown, Iowa; Zach Walker of Kansas City; Nick Cochrane of Fort Dodge; Paul Lorentson of Wisconsin; all friends of the groom. Ben Porter of Davenport, Iowa, and Jordan Vernoy of Cedar Falls, Iowa, friends of the groom, served as ushers.

The bride, a political science graduate of the George Washington University, and the groom, a leisure, youth and human services graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, are both employed as analysts with the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. The groom also serves in the Iowa Air National Guard.

The couple have made their home in Arlington, Va.
