The Austintown Lions and Lioness Clubs held their installation of officers night on June 11. It was also the 35th anniversary of the Austintown Lions. Serving as installation officer was Past District Governor/Past Council Chair Paul Metrovich from the Calcutta Lions Club. Other guests included Lion Linda Metrovich and Vice President of District 13-D Eye Care Foundation/Past District Governor Ted Filmer of the Canfield Lions Club.
Installed as president for his third one-year term was Larry Jensen, who is fitness director of the Boardman YMCA. Other officers installed were First Vice President Bob Melcher, Second Vice President Jack Kochansky, Secretary Harold Wilson, Treasurer Amy Stacy, Tail Twister Bill Sywy, Lion Tamer Don Hoelzel, Membership Director and Public Relations Bob Whited, two-year Director Glenn Ringer, one-year Director John Facemyer, and Lioness Liaison Larry Jensen.
For the Lioness Club, installed as president was Lori Stone, who has had several one-year terms. Stone is an Air Force retiree. Also installed for the Lioness Club were Vice President Lou Skerkavich, Secretary Teresa McCallen and Treasurer Jane Grace.

Highlights of the evening were a presentation of The Knight of The Blind Award to Past District Governor Bob Whited by Filmer representing the Eye Care Foundation, and the Lion Of The Year Award presented to John Facemyer by Jensen.
