Celebrate Poland has been a staple in the community for the past several years and features family and youth activities in the Town Hall area. As the committee prepares for the June 29 and 30 event, Chairman Greg Morrison has announced the fireworks show will now close the weekend.
"We believe that holding the fireworks at the end of the celebration will be a fitting end to the many activities that have come to make the weekend so special," Morrison said.
As in years past, the weekend features a parade, fireworks, a craft show and art show, the Poland Idol talent show, a sidewalk chalk art contest and much more.
The traditional Friday evening Firemen's parade will take place as before followed by a Battle of the Bands featuring six bands ranging from country to rock to alternative. The bands will perform in the field behind Village Hall.
Saturday's activities include a variety of fun, cultural and historical activities in the historic town center and library area of the village.
