Photo special to the Town Crier
The Boardman Lions made a recent donation of three 26' Huffy Cruiser bicycles and three helmets to the Beatitude House in Youngstown. The bikes are kept on-site and assigned to children there to ride in the neighborhood. The Beatitude House also teaches the new owners about bicycle safety. The donation is the latest by the Lions, who have also contributed to the Boardman Township Fire Department, the Linus Project, Coats for Kids, Fourth-Grade Foresters' Arbor Day Project, landscaping of the 'Welcome to Boardman' signs on U.S. 224 and Market Street, and vision testing and medical visits for those in need who qualify. Pictured are Anna Grzebieniak, child advocate; Sister Mary Alice Koval, education director; Terry Shears, Boardman Lions president; and Lee Ward, Boardman Lions member.
