Parents group thanks community

June 6, 2012
The Town Crier

Dear Editor,

On Saturday, May 12 the Parents of Preschoolers Association from Canfield United Methodist Preschool held a Touch A Truck event for the children of the church and preschool. We asked local businesses to help sponsor and participate in this event. We were very pleased that so many local companies wanted to help out the children. I would like to take the time to publicly thank them and let the community know that these companies support the youth of Canfield.

The companies that sent trucks for the children to see were: Canfield Fire Department, Canfield Road Department, Canfield Police Department, Mahoning County Sheriff's Department Canfield Post, FedEx, Wertz Towing, U.S. Army National Guard-ROTC from Youngstown State University, Kid's Choice Therapy, Mahoning Valley Water and Lane Ambulance. There were also many companies who made donations to the event: First Place Bank- Canfield, Arby's-Canfield, Dr. Pamela Barkett, Dr. Melissa Padgett, State Farm Insurance-Jason Reckard, Rita's Italian Ice-North Lima, Canfield Library, Perkin's- Canfield, Giant Eagle- Canfield, Nemenz IGA, Dunkin Donuts-Canfield, Mother's of Preschoolers-Old North Church, Mahoning Valley Moms, State Farm Insurance- Tom Danko, BP of Youngstown/Warren, Doctors Park Veterinary Clinic, Main Street Theater-Columbiana, Mill Creek Park Farm, CRX, Beyond Expectations Speech Therapy, Wendy's Canfield, Dairy Queen-Canfield, Farmer's National Bank-Canfield.

Without all the hard work of the parents and the generosity of the businesses we could not have made this happen.

Thank you,

Shawna Wilt, president
