The Austintown Alumni Association recently awarded mini-grants to three Austintown teachers, including Michelle Benich, AMS gifted program; Amanda Nims, elementary technology; and Amanda Shrader, Fitch intervention specialist.
Mini-grants are used for materials, programs and teaching aids that extend learning in the classroom.
Since 2001, the Austintown Alumni has funded classroom mini-grants in excess of $11,000.

The Austintown Alumni was established in October 1997 and it reaches Fitch graduates across the country. Its goals are to raise money for scholarships for Fitch seniors, provide mini-grants for teachers, and provide a link to Fitch alumni.
