Youngstown Flash scores perfect record in Jamfest

The Youngstown Flash boys eighth-grade AAU team recently won the Buffalo Jamfest AAU and 14 under Basketball Tournament with perfect 50 record. They averaged 75 points a game while only giving up an average of 46 points a game. The Youngstown Flash team defeated Upstate Buffalo, N.Y., 82-74 in the championship game.

The team also defeated EBC Elite, 70-29; Buffalo United, 64-39; DB Hoops from Wooster, 82-29; and NECAA from New York, 69-61. Winning the tournament qualified the team to play in the Grand Nationals in Cleveland June 22 to 24 against teams from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Florida, and New York.

Youngstown Flash's current record is 204. The team is comprised of Preston Stitt of Boardman, Jaret Johnson of Niles, Zach Fedyski of McDonald, Mike Gajdos of Poland, Scott Duffy of Austintown, Reece Bogan of Howland, Alex Duda of Boardman, Jaden Walton of Newton Falls, Anthony Pangio of Austintown, Mike Williams of Poland, and Nick Braydich of Poland, and coached by Jim Stitt.
