On Thursday, May 3, Poland Seminary High School held a triple signing for members of the 2012 football team. Jerry Lawman and Jordan Voitus will be continuing their football careers at Waynesburg University while Jacob Janoso is heading to Grove City College and the Yellow Jackets this fall.
Football has long been in the trio's blood. Lawman and Voitus started their career playing for the Poland Little Bulldogs 95-pound team. Janoso entered in the sixth grade and stuck with it.
"I'll bet there is 40 years of football between the three of them," said Poland head football coach Mark Brungard.
At a triple signing last week, Poland gridiron seniors Jordan Voitus, Jerry Lawman and Jacob Janoso signed their letters of intent to continue their football careers after graduation. Joining them was football coach Mark Brungard. Lawman and Voitus will be attending Waynesburg University this fall while Janoso is heading to Grove City College.
As to their individual choices, Janoso said his choice of heading to Grove City College was an educational one.
"They had the best mechanical engineering program," he said. "That is what I plan on majoring in."
Voitus plans on majoring in history at Waynesburg, but said he likes the football program.
"I like the coaching staff and the program," he said. "Plus David Bobby (a past Poland Bulldog) is already playing there."
Lawman plans on majoring in international business at Waynesburg and he too likes the program.
""I really like the feel of Waynesburg and the coach," he said. "Poland senior Jimmy Morocco is also planning to head to Waynesburg, which along with Bobby and Voitus will make a Poland foursome.
