Austintown trooper gets promotion

Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Brian M. Vail has been promoted to the rank of sergeant by Col. John Born, patrol superintendent, during a ceremony at the Patrol's Academy. Sgt. Vail will transfer from his current assignment at the Canfield Post to serve as an assistant post commander of the Ravenna Post.

Sgt. Vail began his patrol career in March 2001 as a member of the 137th Academy Class. He earned his commission in September of that year and was assigned to the Milan Post. In 2004, he transferred to the Hiram Post. In 2007, he transferred to his most recent assignment at the Canfield Post.

Sgt. Vail resides in Austintown with his wife, Heather.
