The Mahoning County OVI Task Force has announced that police officers will operate a sobriety checkpoint in Mahoning County to deter and intercept drinking drivers this week. Currently. the location of the upcoming checkpoint is undisclosed.
"We want to make sure that motorists understand that officers will be vigilant in detecting and apprehending impaired drivers. It is important that those who consume alcohol have a designated driver or make other arrangements to get home safely," said Assistant Chief Scott Weamer.
Support in operating the upcoming sobriety checkpoint will be provided by participating agencies of the Mahoning County OVI Task Force and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
