Photo special to the Town Crier
The guest speaker for the April 2 meeting of the Canfield AARP Chapter 3104 was Jeff Mihalik who presented his program on 'Outhouse Archaelology.' Mihalik has excavated hundreds of outhouse privies in eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania, recovering and restoring thousands of artifacts. He is a biologist, archaeologist, and a historian. The sites he excavates are all over 100 years old.
The Canfield AARP meets at 1 p.m. the first Monday of each month in Fellowship Hall in the Canfield Presbyterian Church. Each month features a different speaker, followed by a short meeting, refreshments, and a social time. Blood pressure screenings are available from noon to 12:45 p.m.
