Dancers from Stage Left Theater Arts Academy in Canfield competed this weekend at Onstage New York dance competition. The competition brought together local studios as well as studios from Pittsburgh and Cleveland. Stage Left took home a first and second place overall in both of their trio routines, and their group number 'Cup of Life' took home a fourth place overall against 20 other routines from the competition. The girls are part of the larger Performance Company of Stage Left and have performed locally since last August at various benefits, charity events, and First Night Canfield, in addition to competing. Director Kimberly Lisowski states, 'The formation of the Performance Company this year has opened doors and venues these performers would have never experienced otherwise, and we are committed to using our dance and theater abilities to serve the community in any way we can.' The girls will be traveling to Sandusky, this summer to compete at the national level and check www.stageleftacademy.com to find where they will be performing in the meantime across the Valley.
