At CHS addressing health related issues is only fair
According to Canfield High School physical education teacher Kristen Gennaro, having found that it wasn't feasible to cover in class every topic they would like to touch upon, she and fellow phys-ed teacher Mike Strohecker began looking at ways to offer information on the issues not being addressed in class.
Organized by Gennaro and Strohecker, with input from school nurse Regina Reynolds, Canfield High School Health Fair fit the bill. With 18 booths available, the event offered information on such widespread topics as dental health, chiropractic medicine, dermatology, and cancer.
Canfield High School 10th-graders Stephanie Jickess and Emma Seyburt spent time with Krupa Patel, a Neomed student sharing information through a Dermatology Interest Group project highlighting skin cancer and the American Cancer Society.
Available all day to staff and students, visitors ambled amongst the information packed event, speaking to representatives and helping themselves to free literature and samples relating to a myriad of health issues.
