Photo special to the Town Crier
At the March meeting of the Austintown Lions Club, the monthly speaker’s night featured the Rev. Elmarie Parker, Pastor of the Wickliffe Presbyterian Church. Parker gave a very descriptive talk on her trip to Iraq this past November where she visited Christian groups in Basra with several other Presbyterian ministers. She enlightened her audience as she described the relationship with Muslims and Christians and the cultures that are so prominent throughout the area of Iraq. Different foods, scenic points of interest, safety measures and checkpoints were also thoroughly discussed with many question asked by the Lions. Pictured is King Lion Larry Jensen presenting a certificate of appreciation to Parker.
