Steelers coming to town

Union staff to play basketball for fundraiser

Calendars are marked, commitments have been made and excitement is building within the Poland community as members of the Pittsburgh Steelers will be traveling to Poland on Thursday, March 15 to play in basketball game inside Poland Seminary High School's Fieldhouse.

Taking on members of Poland Union Elementary School staff and other leaders from the community, the Steelers will spend halftime signing autographs, and according to school Principal Mike Masucci, numerous autographed items will be raffled off, with all proceeds from the game to benefit Poland Union Elementary School.

Tickets are available for $7 each and can be purchased at Poland Union from 8:30 to 3:30 Monday through Friday. Should there be any remaining tickets, they will be available for purchase at the Fieldhouse ticket window beginning at 7 p.m., when doors will open. Tip-off will be at 8 p.m. Interested persons with questions are asked to call 330-757-7014.

Excitement abounds amongst staff and students alike regarding the upcoming Steelers vs. Poland basketball game, the proceeds of which will benefit Poland Union Elementary School. Union third-grade student Abbegale Altmar, and fourth-grade student Serena Studzinski are no exception.
