2 Cardinal skaters earn honors

The Canfield Cardinals could only muster 11 shots in a season ending 4-0 loss against Aurora at the OHSAA sectional hockey tournament held at Kent State, last week. Canfield ended the season at 5-21.

Seniors Sean Meditz, Blue division Honorable Mention, and Roger Geiser, Blue East second team, were named to the Greater Cleveland High School Hockey League all star teams. Geiser ended his Canfield hockey career with 2,407 saves -- a state record -- and this season saved 91 percent of shots faced with a goals against average of 3.96. Meditz set the school record for most games played in a career at 99.

The league also announced that the Cards will be a part of the Blue Central (East) division with Twinsburg, Nordonia, Brush, and West Geauga for the 2012-13 campaign.
