Boardman's Nico Graziani, at right, increased his varsity record to 32-2 by winning the 160-pound weight class at the high school Eastern Ohio Wrestling League tournament on Feb. 4. Graziani pinned his first two opponents then won his semifinal match, 21-7. In the finals, Graziani won 10-2 and was named the tournament MVP for his outstanding performance.
The junior high EOWL tournament was held on Feb. 11 where Nico's younger brother, Mario, at left, wrestled in the 112-pound weight class. Mario pinned his first opponent and won his semifinal match 10-4 against a state qualifier. Mario won his finals match 13-2 winning the 112-pound weight class. Mario was also awarded the tournament MVP. This accomplishment marks the first time that brothers have won the EOWL MVP award in the same year.
