It took five quarters of basketball to decide the final game of the season, but the Boardman Center Middle School eighth-grade boys came out the victor with a 5651 decision, ending their season with a 124 record.
The Spartans were down bytwo2 after the first period, but battled back to take a 2619 halftime lead. In the second half, the Raiders narrowed the gap and were within two with three minutes left in the game. The Spartans seemed to have it all sewed up with a 4240 lead and only two seconds left in the game.
After a Raider missed free throw, the Spartans didn't control the rebound and a Warren player threw up a prayer from inside the paint to knot the game at 42 as the buzzer sounded.

The fifth-period tip off went to Warren who then moved out to a 5150 lead. The Spartans gave it all they had and, with less than a minute to go, Alex Duda hit a short jumper to take the 5250 lead and after a few Warren miscues the 12-4 Spartans secured the win.
